PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THIS - GO IF YOU CAN

PhotoDebut, our photographer's collective, celebrating seven supportive and successful years, is holding a final swan-song and co-ordinating free talks by a variety of creatives, from professional photographers and curators alongside a book launch and an exhibition I'm co-curating, with prints available for purchase - all hand in hand with a variety of events from camera obscura to tea, cakes and free tipple.

Background information is on the the attached PDF, and event details on the link below.

A number of the events run during the day but I hope I'll be able to see you on the evening street party on Thursday 10th June 7pm+.

Would be lovely to see you : )

Kind regards
Afshin

London, May 2010
photodebut
- a case study (a book by photodebut about photodebut and all the fun we had!) photodebut was established in 2003 as a London collective for emerging photographers.
Seven years since its inception photodebut is undergoing major transformation because its members are no longer emerging but have busy and successful careers. Having started out in the London photographic industry many of photodebut's members have spread around the globe. To mark this point with a bang the collective have published a book titled: photodebut, A Case Study.
The publication combines the history of photodebut's experiences of working together as a collective and is aimed as a manual for other emerging photographers. The book also includes critical writings by collaborators including Helen James (The Photographer’s Gallery), Fiona Hayes (Condé Nast and Phillipes de Pury), Susan Bright (V&A), Sophie
Rickett (artist) and Mark Sinclair (Creative Review) alongside visuals from our latest photodebut project Chinese Whispers.
photodebut's members include photographers and artists, art buyers, picture editors, lecturers, writers and a professional plumber.... Combined clients, publications and exhibitions include, Dazed and Confused, Vogue, Vanity Fair, World of Interiors, Winkreative, Monocle, Creative Review, The V&A... The list goes on.
photodebut, A Case Study will be released on June 10th at HOST Gallery, 1-5 Honduras Street, London EC1Y 0TH. The collective is planning to launch the book with a very personal evening at this prestigious gallery in central London. The event will be introduced by various daily events during the week which will be set inside and outside of the gallery: exhibitions, gigantic camera obscuras, talks, presentations, books, tea& coffee and so much more!!
During the week are expecting about 250 visitors and for the book launch again about 250 guests from across the photographic and creative industries.
